Yuji Koie
鯉江 優次
The kiln of Yuji Koie in Aichi Prefecture produces traditional items that have been produced for centuries, alongside with contemporary designed objects.

Mr. Koie plays an important regional role, educating younger generations on the history of pottery, as well as operating his kiln with his own brand of household goods. Furthermore he has his own store, where he also holds pottery workshops.

One of the production methods of his kiln, mold casting.
The preparation of various glaze mixtures takes place in this dedicated part of the workshop.

Multiple pre-firing kilns and main firing kilns are available here, each with different specs for different products.
After being extracted from the molds, our Asemi Co. cups are being hand finished on the potter's wheel.
